Insomnia is characterised by one or more of the following - difficulty initiating sleep, difficultly staying asleep and/or waking too early in the morning, may be due to factors such as sleep deprivation (from shift work, longer work hours and modern lifestyle), stress, illness, personal conflict, sudden schedule changes, and having young children.
Valerian has traditionally been used to aid relaxation, help relieve nervous tension and restlessness, and provide temporary relief of insomnia. It provides gentle sedative and relaxant herb to promote restful sleep.
Valeriana officinalis (Valerian) extract
equiv. to dry root 2.0 g (2000 mg)
(standardised to contain valerenic acids 2.4 mg)
Adults take one capsule 30 minutes to an hour before bedtime, or when experiencing insomnia.
Children under 12 - only as professionally prescribed.
Not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
